OLG CYO sports provides opportunities for young people to develop strong moral character, self-esteem, and leadership qualities through activities of an athletic nature, which will lead toward the development of Christian ideals in the youth served. We encourage and promote teamwork, positivity, fun, and healthy competition.
We are committed to providing a CYO program to help our youth realize their full potential. Principles of fair play and sportsmanship must govern every game. All participants should have a healthy respect for their teammates, opponents, coaches and officials. We encourage patience and tolerance among coaches and parents when developing the athletic skills of young players.
The Board of Directors of OLG CYO will do everything in its power to act in the best interest of its participants and its programs. The Board, along with the Parish Priest, has the final authority to make decisions regarding coaches and player eligibility and rules and regulations.

OLG CYO Volleyball 2016 registration is now open. Erin Pedras is the volleyball liaison for this season. Registration will close at 10:00 p.m. on January 14, 2016 and no registrations will be accepted after this date. Boys volleyball teams are combined by grades - 5th and 6th grade will be one team and 7th and 8th grade will be one team. Cost is $90 per child. Sibling discounts do apply to second and third children from the same family. Practices will begin Monday, February 1, 2016 with the first matches beginning Saturday, February 20, 2016. Teams will practice twice a week Monday through Thursday. There are no Friday practices. Exact days and times will not be known until closer to the start of practice. The volunteer coaches of the teams will select their practice times so it is conducive to their work schedules.
Something new this year is that 4th grade volleyball is being offered for a full-season. Be aware that 4th grade volleyball is CO-ED. Yes, the boys and girls play as one team in 4th grade.
Please sign-up early as we need to get an idea of how many teams we will have in each grade. If the numbers warrant, we will have multiple teams in the same grade.
LOOKING FOR COACHES FOR THE FOLLOWING TEAMS: 4th grade for Co-Ed, 5th/6th grade boys, 7th grade girls, and 7th/8th grade boys. If you are interested in being a coach, you must be current on your Safe Environment Training - this includes your background check, the Policy and Ethics forms, and the Protecting God's Children class through the Archdiocese of Seattle (the old Called to Protect Training). You must also have knowledge of the game of volleyball and be willing to attend coaches clinics that are provided by Seattle CYO Athletics to help further your skills as a coach. You will earn 30 commitment hours.
In the event we don't have enough players for one team, we will seek out help from neighboring parishes to combine teams so kids have a chance to play.
