How blessed we are at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church! From the earliest days of our parish until the present moment,
there has been a spirit of community that is a quality of the heart. This spirit leads us to recognize that we are
alive not for ourselves, but for one another.
The community spirit of OLG led those early parishioners to build a school and a church. They had a vision, believed
in the vision and accomplished their dream.
Recent years have been ones of tremendous growth for our parish. We have built two buildings, a functional pastoral
center, and a thriving community center/gym. In addition, at parishioners direction, we are making bold initiatives in areas
of social outreach, education, and advocacy. Our school continues to be recognized by educational experts and families
as one of the best.
During my 12 years as your pastor, I have sought your direction for our new buildings and over eighty percent of
parishioners supported moving ahead. Eight hundred of you gave the parish leadership the direction to develop
faith formation programs for youth who are not in our school. The parish survey of three years ago also directed
the parish to offer more opportunities for social outreach and education. We have been acting on your input and now
are asking for your continued financial support through our increased offertory program.
Commitment Sunday was this past weekend. Thank you for being the heart of a living, breathing, growing community
of faith. Our Increased Offertory Program was this weekend a all Masses. The commitment Card contains information
on how to plan your increased offertory gift to the church, and asks for your commitment over the next year. We encourage
all of you to fill out your commitment cards weather you are signed up for electronic giving or still using the weekly envelopes.
This allows you to prayerfully contribute to your parish and school's future as well as assists your leaders to plan for the future.
If you were unable to join us or turn your Commitment Card in this weekend, there are several other ways to still
make your commitment.
