Over 55 & Looking for Work
The AARP has some funding from the government to place qualified workers over 55 in part time positions while assigning a career assistance specialist to work with them to find full time positions in their field. Thus they receive some income and career assistance. The career specialist not only advises but also will make calls to potential employers on behalf of the worker.
The part-time positions are with non-profit community service organizations. Program participants are expected to work 18 hours a week. Another 10 hours a week is to be spent on job search and working with the career assistance specialist.

Almighty, ever-living God, You give strength to the weary and new courage to those who have lost heart. Hear the prayers of all who call on You in any trouble that they may have the joy of receiving Your help in their need. Amen.
