HOW OLG CYO SUPPORTS THE OLG COMMUNITY
In 2018-19 school year, we increased participation in all sports offered
In 2018-19, we increased our two scholar athlete awards (from $500) to $1250 each, $2500 per year. OLG CYO gives Scholar Athlete scholarships to an 8th grade boy and girl each year at graduation. The money is paid directly to the winner's high school to offset tuition.
Donated $10,000 to the OLG Parish to help with the debt reduction campaign
Donated to Loop the Lupe (2018 & 2019)
Contributed $3,000 to help cover the cost of the new security system for the gym (2018-19)
Lit up the tree for Light Up the Night (2018)
Donated $10,000 towards the building of The Walmesley Center
Paid $2,000 toward the floor refinishing of the gym (August 2014)
Provides financial assistance every year to several students needing financial assistance for participating in CYO sports at OLG. No child is ever turned away because of inability to pay.
Hosts a golf tournament each spring and donates half of the proceeds to the In-Parish Help Fund. In the twelve years of the tournament, OLG CYO has raised over $15,000 for the OLG Parish In-Parish Help Fund.
Priovides uniforms for athletes
Spends about $2,000 toward equipment each year (Soccer balls, whistles, basketballs, volleyballs, baseballs, bats, hats)
Offers free players’ clinics and day camps to our athletes and coaches each year. We pay to bring in specially trained instructors to help teach our teams to improve their skills.
The team fees OLG CYO pays CYO SEATTLE is over $15,000 each year. OLG CYO keeps our participation fees lower than other area leagues due to our outstanding volunteers and two annula fundraisers (Italian Dinner & Dance and Golf Tournament).
CYO does not pay the parish money to use the gym but donates money to help offset the lights and heating bills because of our gym usage.
